As an experienced family lawyer and mediator, I’m passionate about supporting couples to work out arrangements following a family breakdown– in a constructive, respectful and informed way.
My aim is to provide a safe space to work through difficult issues and emotions and to walk alongside and guide couples on their journey through separation and divorce.
I have over 30 years’ experience and expertise advising on all issues relating to family breakdown but have long felt that court is not the best forum for most families to sort out their separation. I trained as a family mediator in 1998 in the belief that many families can work out their separation avoiding the emotional and financial cost of court proceedings, with impartial guidance and support. It’s a belief I hold true to today.
I specialise in helping parents work out their new relationship as separated parents in a way that will work for them and their children – recognising the effect of family breakdown on the wider family and the importance of grandparents and other family members for children. I’m qualified to consult with children in mediation which can really help the process.
As a Professional Practice Consultant (PPC) I enjoy supporting newly trained as well as experienced mediators in their professional practice development.
Retiring from legal practice in November 2023 has allowed me to focus solely on my passions working with families in mediation and my role supporting others as a PPC.
